Refrigerator Repair

Built-in and integrated Sub-Zero fresh-food sections diagnosed properly — temperature drift, sealed-system faults, defrost and control failures.

What we get called for

  • 01 Fresh food section sitting at 50°F while the freezer is still rock solid
  • 02 Compressor runs constantly and the unit never cycles off
  • 03 Vacuum-tight door that has to be forced open a few seconds after closing
  • 04 Water pooling under the crisper drawers or freezing into a sheet at the base

How the visit runs

The unit is read before it is opened: model and serial, current cabinet temperatures and the fault history. Then the sealed system goes under gauges, the defrost circuit and thermistors are metered, and airflow at the evaporator is measured. You get a written diagnosis and a firm price before anything is ordered or replaced.

Common parts ride on the van — evaporator fan motors, defrost heaters, thermistors, gaskets, inlet valves and the widespread control boards. Sealed-system components are ordered against your serial so the part arriving is the part that fits.

  1. Two columns side by side and only the left one misbehaved — warm top shelves, fine at the bottom. Airflow at the evaporator showed the air tower baffle jammed shut. Cleared it, swapped a tired fan.

  2. Our column drifted warm for a month and two other outfits said replace it. He found a defrost thermistor reading nonsense and a drain packed with sludge. One afternoon of work. A star off because the part arrived late.

  3. Panel-ready unit wedged into a tight condo kitchen with an inch of clearance either side. He walked it out on a dolly, replaced the control board, and put every panel back without marking the maple.

Model number and a description of the fault is usually enough to narrow it before anyone is dispatched. Kirkland calls booked before 11:00 are normally seen the same day. The service call is $89 flat and comes straight off an approved repair.
